How to Transform Your Hope & Wild Candle Into a Reed Diffuser

Once your Hope & Wild candle has burned down, the ritual doesn't have to end. In just a few simple steps, your ceramic vessel can be transformed into a beautiful reed diffuser — ready to fragrance your home all over again.

What You'll Need

Step 1 — Clean your vessel

Before switching, make sure your vessel is completely clean and dry. Follow our candle cleaning guide to remove any wax residue. This is especially important when switching to diffuser use — you want no wax or residue that could affect the oil.

Step 2 — Add your diffuser oil

Pour your chosen Hope & Wild diffuser oil refill into the clean vessel. Our 200ml bottles will fill your vessel to approximately two thirds full — this gives the reeds enough oil to draw up without the risk of overflow.

Step 3 — Fit the converter lid

Place your ceramic converter lid onto the vessel. It's designed to fit snugly and hold your reeds securely in place.

Step 4 — Add your reeds

Insert your reed diffuser sticks through the lid. For the first use, flip the reeds after an hour to help the fragrance get going. After that, flip them once or twice a week to refresh the scent.

Step 5 — Find your spot

Place your diffuser somewhere with a little airflow — a hallway, bathroom or bedroom works beautifully. Avoid direct sunlight or radiators, which can cause the oil to evaporate too quickly.

Switching Back to a Candle?

Simply clean the vessel thoroughly, ensure all oil residue is completely removed, and drop in a new candle refill. Never light a candle in a vessel that has any flammable oil residue remaining.
