The Story of Hope & Wild
Refill, not landfill.
Because luxury doesn't have to cost the earth.
Hope & Wild wasn't born in a laboratory or a boardroom. It started at home.
A busy house shared with my husband, our sport-mad teenage twin boys, and our dog (who, unsurprisingly, is also a boy!).
Like many mums, I love creating a home that feels warm, welcoming and calm amongst the chaos of family life. Whether it's disguising the smell of musty football boots, wet dog or whatever's been cooking in the kitchen, there's nearly always a candle burning or a reed diffuser scenting our home.
But the more home fragrance products I bought, the more questions I started asking.
Why was I constantly throwing away beautiful candle jars and diffuser bottles? Why were so many products filled with ingredients I couldn't pronounce? And why did so many fragrances seem to aggravate not only us, but our animals too? It left me wondering what was my family breathing in every day?
I wanted something better. Better for my family, better for our pets, and better for the environment.
What began as a simple idea quickly became an obsession. I tested hundreds of fragrance blends, waxes and wicks before finally creating the collection you see today. I wanted fragrances that filled a room beautifully without unnecessary nasties, candles that burned cleaner and lasted longer, and products people would treasure rather than throw away.
That's where Hope & Wild began.
One Vessel. Two Rituals.
One thing kept frustrating me throughout the process: every candle and diffuser seemed to come with another vessel destined for a cupboard, recycling bin or ultimately landfill.
So rather than create another disposable home fragrance product, I designed a refillable scent system.
A handcrafted ceramic vessel that transforms from candle to reed diffuser simply by changing the lid.
One vessel. Two rituals. Designed to be reused again and again.
Because the most sustainable product is often the one you never need to replace.

Today, every Hope & Wild candle is hand-poured in the UK using 100% natural rapeseed and coconut wax. Our fragrances are vegan-friendly, paraben-free and phthalate-free, and our vessels are handcrafted in the UK and designed to stay in your home for years, not weeks.
Everything is created with the same philosophy that started this journey: beautiful fragrance shouldn't come at the expense of our homes, our health or the planet.
